Gold Medal Sound is technically a mobile DJ music service based in Neenah, Wisconsin. But in reality it is much more than that. Ron Newman is the man behind the microphone and has been heard over the last
20 years all over Northeast Wisconsin and the Fox Valley on the radio. He is better known by his radio names of Boomer or Billy Cannon. You have probably heard his voice on a commercial or 2 on nearly every radio station from Fond du Lac to Green Bay and every station in between. Ron has DJed professionally on radio stations in Neenah, Oshkosh, and Kaukauna to mention a few but most don't know he is also the man behind the microphone at Gold Medal Sound and Gold Medal Mixes.

Weddings are just a part of Gold Medal Sound, Ron has been the DJ at elementary, middle school, high school dances, corporate events and parties, class reunions, college events, prom, cheerleading events, dance competitions and also emceed the state cheerleading competition for 3 years in Green Bay.
Gold Medal Sound brings experience, class, and fun to your event without the typical "dj" speak. Ron doesn't try to be the life of the party, you and your guests are the life of the party! Sometimes knowing when to be quiet and let the music play is what separates DJ's. Ron knows, with over 25+ years of experience, but that doesn't mean you get a tired old party. Ron is invited back to more to wedding for families, high school prom, company events, middle and elementary schools everytime Gold Medal Sound plays, because Ron has his hand on what people want to hear, rock to, and dance to. It is not his personal jukebox, it is what the crowd wants to move to at that particular moment on the dance floor.
