Ron has been a lifelong disc jockey on both radio and doing mobile dj work and started trying to get on the radio in Ottumwa, Iowa at age 11, after a trip to a radio station during a cub scout trip. At the age of 16, his mentor, Layton "King" Zbornik hired him to work weekends at a local radio station in Iowa. Shortly after, Ron was asked by "King" to join the Albia Entertainment Co. Ron was taught a very young age by one of Dick Clark's Top 5 DJ's in the country in the 70's, how to host successful wedding's, teen dances, parties and events. What to watch for and know when to talk, and when to be quiet and let the dance floor explode.
Ron went on to move up the radio and mobile dj ladders, working the 7p-Mid shift at 100,000 watt Top 40 radio stations in Iowa and Wisconsin and DJing on the weekends, and soon his high school dances, corporate events and weddings got bigger and bigger. Getting hired for dances up to 3000 people. Ron has also emceed events like Country USA in Oshkosh, WI in front of 30,000. In 2006, after hundreds of successful dances and events, Ron started Gold Medal Sound. Same great dances, but with a new name! Since then, Ron has hosted dances from Appleton & Oshkosh, to Menasha to Darboy, Combined Locks, Kimberly and Fond du Lac and all stops in between.
Ron is happily married with 4 kids, 2 Boston Terriers and has called Neenah, WI his home the last 20 years.
